Tentmaker Remodeling Warranty
TENTMAKER REMODELING LIMITED WORKMANSHIP WARRANTY
Tentmaker Remodeling warrants that work performed under this agreement will be completed in a professional and workmanlike manner consistent with the project documents, applicable manufacturer instructions, and generally accepted industry standards.
GENERAL WORKMANSHIP WARRANTY
Tentmaker Remodeling provides the original customer with a two-year limited workmanship warranty beginning on the date of substantial completion. During this period, Tentmaker Remodeling will repair defective work determined to have resulted directly from Tentmaker Remodeling workmanship at no additional labor or material charge to the customer.
SHOWER WATERPROOFING WARRANTY
When Tentmaker Remodeling installs the complete shower substrate and waterproofing assembly, Tentmaker Remodeling warrants its waterproofing workmanship against water intrusion for five years from the date of substantial completion.
This waterproofing warranty applies only to portions of the shower substrate, waterproofing membrane, seams, penetrations, transitions and related components installed by Tentmaker. It does not cover an existing shower pan, tub, drain, plumbing connection, valve, supply line, fixture, framing component or other work installed or modified by another person.
WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS
This warranty does not cover:
• Defects in tile, stone, grout, fixtures or other manufactured materials
• Normal wear, aging, discoloration or minor variations in appearance
• Routine maintenance, including cleaning, sealing and replacement of flexible sealant or caulk
• Cracking or movement caused by settling, structural movement, vibration, substrate movement or conditions outside Tentmaker’s work
• Damage caused by misuse, impact, improper cleaning products, excessive moisture, inadequate ventilation, neglect or failure to maintain the installation
• Mold, mildew, staining, efflorescence or mineral deposits unless directly caused by a covered workmanship defect
• Plumbing leaks or failures in components not installed by Tentmaker
• Owner-supplied materials, except to the extent that damage was caused directly by Tentmaker’s installation
• Work altered, repaired or disturbed by another contractor or person
• Damage caused by storms, flooding, fire, freezing, pests, accidents or other conditions beyond Tentmaker’s control
MANUFACTURER WARRANTIES
Materials and manufactured products are covered only by the warranties provided by their respective manufacturers. Tentmaker Remodeling will provide available product information and reasonably assist the customer with a manufacturer claim, but Tentmaker Remodeling does not extend or replace a manufacturer’s warranty.
WARRANTY CLAIM PROCEDURE
The customer must notify Tentmaker Remodeling in writing promptly after discovering a suspected defect and must take reasonable steps to prevent additional damage. Tentmaker must be given a reasonable opportunity to inspect the condition before any repair, removal or alteration is performed by another person, except when immediate action is reasonably necessary to prevent additional property damage.
If a condition is covered, Tentmaker Remodeling’s obligation will be to repair or replace the affected portion of its work. Any covered repair will be warranted for the remainder of the original warranty period or one year from the repair date, whichever is longer.
This warranty applies to the original customer and property identified in the agreement and becomes effective after the contract balance and approved change orders have been paid in full. This written warranty does not limit any rights that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.
